Jaagriti- A week of Technical Moksha


March 17: SR Group of Institutions, Jhansi, once again has started leading the UPTU colleges in organizing Workshops and Seminars, as it was reported last year by an esteemed education magazine ‘UPTU Watch’ that College of Science and Engineering, Jhansi organized the maximum seminars among all UPTU colleges. On the campus of SR Group of Institutions, Jhansi, a Workshop Week (09 March to 16 March) ‘Jaagriti’ was organized by all the Departments of College of Science & Engineering.

‘Jaagriti’ was initiated by a two-day workshop on “New Age Construction & Structure” organized by the Dept. of Civil Engineering. In his inaugural speech, Sri R. N. Khare, Director, SRSI, Raipur opined that nature helps a lot in maintaining the environmental equilibrium, and explained the instance of the natural environmental project that is being carried in Gurgaon. Dr. S. S. Gupta of Pantnagar University, Uttarakhand, explicated about the strength of Cyclic Loaded Piles. Prof. A. K. Saxena from MITS, Gwalior, discussed about the use of Fly Ash in Cement and Concrete. On the second day of the workshop, Dr. R. P. Tiwari, Rewa Engineering College, delivered his speech on Rock Tunneling and Dr. Abhay Kumar Jain, Director, M. P. Technical Education, focused his deliverance on concrete mixed designs.

The Dept. of Business Administration of the SR group of management organized the second event of ‘Jaagriti,’ a National Seminar on “Latest HR Mobilization Practices”, in association with CII. The main objective of this event was to bridge the gap between the students’ expectations and industry demands. In his welcome address, Prof. V.K.Verma, Director, emphasized the importance of Human Resource Practices in the corporate world. The theme address was given by Mr.Jayant Krishna, Chairman, CII UP State Council, Head & Principal Consultant, TCS, Lucknow. Mr. Krishna laid stress on the role of communication during interview. He gave the students Ten Commandments to groom oneself and become industry ready. He also gave a picture on how the Indian business is expanding globally.

The panel discussion was chaired by Mr. Krishna. Mr. Himanshu Kumar, HR Head, TCS Lucknow, discussed how the recruitment of the right kind of a person for a specific task is becoming a difficult job for the industry. He announced that there are jobs for all those who are competent. Mr. Arumugum Subramaniam, HR Head, Airtel, Lucknow, shared his experiences during the recruitment process and also suggested what more can be done for better recruitment. Mr.Sandeep Rai, Senior Manager – HR & Admin, Continental Carbon India Ltd. Ghaziabad, guided the students on how to club the personal goals with the organizational goals. Ms. Apoorva Kapoor, HR Manager, Tata Motors Ltd, Lucknow, talked on Personnel Management and its utilization. Mr. Amit Chaddha, Business Head, IDBI Bank, Jhansi brought the banking perspective to the notice. Mr. Rajesh Gopinathan, CII UP State Head, was also present in the seminar. The Vice Chairperson, SR Group of Institutions Ms.Pooja Rai, felicitated the guests.

The third workshop in ‘Jaagriti’ was organized by the Dept. of Computer Science & Information Technology on  ‘Hack-O-Mania’ which means information security, where guest speakers like Mr. Arshdeep, Mr. Paras and Mr. Rajat Garg from Carion Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, delivered their presentations on E-mail Attack, Hacking Training, Reverse Engineering and Website Hacking. Mr. Arshdeep, emphasizing on E-mail Attack, illustrated the way of hacking others’ e-mail and also delineated the tricks to escape from being the victim of the same.

“Recent Advancement in Nano-Technology,” was the fourth workshop in ‘Jaagriti’ organized by the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering. The Chief Guest of the workshop Dr. Prabhat Dwivedi from IIT, Kanpur, gave the detail description of Nano-Technology, Nano Particles and Nano Structures. Er. Navendu Goswami from JIIT, NOIDA, imparted the knowledge about Nano Materials. Anant Kumar Singh, a research scholar from IIT Delhi made the students aware about Nano Machining. The second session began with a presentation by Dr. Vijay Verma of BIET, Jhansi in which he discussed about Nano Composites. Dr. Fauziya Khan from MANIT, Bhopal, told the students about the bright future of Nano-Technology.

The final workshop of ‘Jaagriti’ was conducted by the Dept. of Electronics & Communication, and Instrumentation & Control on “Embedded System & PLC.” The Guest Speakers in the workshop were from Silicon Ltd. and Quick Logic Control. In the first session, Mr. T. N. Singh from Silicon Ltd., shared his experience on embedded system and enriched the knowledge of students about the general use of the same.

 The three-day workshop provided the students with the knowledge of Embedded System Software, Micro controller 8051 and memory organization. On the third day, knowledge on Robotics and their different forms were imparted. Mr. Chetan Sharma from Quick Logic Control highlighted the industrial use of PLC and SKADA. This workshop provided the students with the opportunity to work on Ladder Programming, FBD & IL programming, Relay and Contactor Circuits and Geleo Software.

Including SR Group of Institutions, students from different colleges of Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh participated in this event.
